Fresh in the laboratory: A GC-MS/MS full of options!

Yet another new instrument in the laboratory. This time a GC-MS/MS with loads of possibilities.
We have chosen an Ion-Trap mass spectrometer for its superior performance when tracing unknown compounds. Combined with our new reference libraries we are able to analyse beyond the limits of routine methods.
Furthermore, in MS/MS-mode we have perfect tools for quantitation of known pollutants as i.e. PAH.
The options and possibilities reach even further.
By using a temperature programmable injector (PTV) with active cooling we are able to reach even lower detection limits using large-volume injection. The injector also gives us new methods for focusing analytes in headspace analysis of volatile compounds.
Finally we have added the possibility for chemical ionization. This technique gives us a very high selectivity for chlorinated and brominated compounds as chloroparaffines, PCB and flame retardants.
This new instrument will take care of all our needs in analysis of volatile and semi-volatile compounds and is the perfect match for our LC-MS/MS.
