Micans is currently at Granada University where we participate in a first project annual meeting (PAM) within the EU project Microbiology of nuclear waste (MIND).

The meeting consists of three parts. First a technical meeting is held where participants exchange knowledge on working with nucleic acids and clay that are intended to be used as buffer material in the repository environment for spent nuclear fuel. Then there are meetings for each Work package in Mind, Two of them are microbes in the repository environment for spent fuel and low and intermediate level waste. Another work package is on the communication of research results to the outside world, so that it can be applied in real repository project. The Project Executive Committee then meet on the meeting's final day.
