Analysis of drinking water

Drinking water is our most important food and it is a prerequisite for much of the other food production that the drinking water maintains a good quality. Drinking water is any water intended or reasonably expected to be consumed by humans, including spring water, from the point of intake to waterworks. The definition of drinking water can be found in § 1 LIVSFS 2022:12 (livsmedelsverket.se)

In the case of microbiological analyses, the results are affected by the analysis method. In order to obtain uniform assessments in such method-dependent examinations, Annex 4 section A of LIVSFS 2022:12 prescribes which microbiological methods must be used for the regular examinations. The methods are national standard methods which, due to their position as generally accepted internationally, serve as reference methods.

Micans performs the determination of culturable microorganisms - Colony counting by inoculation in a nutrient substrate with agar according to standard SS-EN ISO 6222-1 ed. 1. Analysis of Escherichia coli and coliform bacteria is carried out by membrane filtration according to SS-EN ISO 9308-1:2014_A1_2017.

Order sample bottles and analysis

Contact us by phone on +46 31 338 32 30 or at analys@micans.se to order sample bottles. It is an advantage for the laboratory's planning if you can inform us about sample type, number of samples and estimated delivery date in advance. Together with the sample bottles, an accompanying note is also sent. This must be filled in and returned together with the samples. The delivery note can be downloaded for your own printing here.

Samples must be sent by fast and safe transport to our laboratory. Please note that the samples must be delivered directly to the laboratory (not to delivery points).
